I was on it - an interesting few hours. I have to give DFDS credit they handled it well on board. They had free coffee and cake on tap very quickly. In fact for a potential crisis it was all handled very smoothly. I should think the skipper is in a bit of trouble he made a real mess of the dock.

Doesn't look too bad from here? Mind you, the dock looks far worse.

Too right. This was the dock when I left Harwich for the Hook of Holland

This is what it looked like after we hit it on the way back:

Here is the bow impaled on the wreckage

And the tugs, RNLI and Air Sea Rescue were in attendance very quickly

And this was the mess left behind once they pulled us off so to speak. It's a poor photo because by this point were weren't allowed on deck so it was taken through a window.

I'm booked to leave on the 17.45 sailing next Sunday (30th).

Hope they can weld the hole up in time otherwise I've a 1000 mile detour through Holland, Germany and Denmark. :eek
I was booked on the 29th June Esbjerg sailing. The venerable old 650 Dakar did very well considering the detour was motorway the whole way and she was much better at mile munching than I expected because I got home to Bedford last night after getting a ferry from Dunkirk. Could have had an extra day in Norway as it turned out!
