DFDS vs. P&O North Sea

It's the age old human condition of moaning about a 1 in 20 event I suppose. I've used the Tunnel dozens of times....5 trips a year for 15+ yrs...only had a proper delay once due to a broken train. So for me (and likely most others)...a 98%+ success rate. Now use the ferries Dover to Calais and the last dozen trips have been trouble free with a few of them being exceptional...book in/customs/loading/crew etc...the only fly in the ointment have been other members of the public...many of whom are morons.

You cant help some people.
All my delays have been on the UK side, usually on return.
Leeds airport was a cracker two years back. Sat on the aeroplane for 1hour twenty minutes…..waiting for a set of stairs so we could disembark !

Not that I have found enough good roads in Brittany to be recommended as a motorcycle riding destination, I have to say Brittany Ferries are rather good. St Malo to Portsmouth crossing has been a pleasure.

I may follow your advice and go back to the ferries for crossing the Channel.
