The herd of deer that inhabit the ground at Diageo's plant in Leven are to be removed to make way for expansion of the bottling plant.

I see in today's local press, there's talk of the herd (which number about 20) now being culled (it's the same as kulled but sounds nicer to animal lovers).

I wonder if Gerry Watts will head doon with his sharpened rifle for wur pot of stew and dumplings?

Pity though. The deer have been there for years. It's nice to see the wee deer when yer passing the plant :tears

Diageo didn't give a toss about their workers in Kilmarnock when they moved the work to Leven so they are not going to show any concern for the deer.

Probably would have culled the workers to save redundancy pay if they could have got away with it.

You have a point but I'd still rather look a some deer than folk fae Kilmarnock :thumb2

Apparnently the plans for a move to Leven have been on the cards for a long time and have othing to do with the economic downturn.

Our illustrious leaders, both north and south of the border were told some time ago but did nothing about it until it was too late to save Kilmarnock, then they jumped up and down indignantly in front of the cameras.
