Hi All,
If you see my thread CO2 query, you'll notice, with your help, I resolved my problem.
What I want to know is, is it possible to buy some diagnostic equipment so I can check future problems myself?
For example, how could I check a Hall sensor at home? Or even the Motronic unit?
With normal points, alternator carb etc. my multimeter suffices, but with my 850 GS I'm a little stuck. What kit can I buy and what manual is good?
I've got Haynes, which when TPS is mentioned, it says run away; okay sort of;)
Does the Clymer give better coverage? Rear wheel bearing in Haynes again says run away.
Cheers for any help.

I built a small rig to test Hall Effect sensors a few years ago,

It’s all described on this web page http://www.ebbo.org/2av54.php.

The actual hall sensors (Honeywell 2av54 for example) aren’t the only problem now though, as the bikes have got older, so has the wiring to them, and that’s probably more a problem now than the sensors themselves.

Fantastic link, thank you very much.
Is there a good reference guide, so one would know where to look, if you were unsure where a fault lay, or is it just good old trial and error?
