has anyone fitted the magura bars or brought any of the Ricardo khun bar risers so you can fit pro taper bars,if you have never heard of Ricardo he is the american version of our Vern
and has developed some excellent looking bar risers so you can fit pro taper bars and he also machines the bars so they take heated grips and the original bar weights,if your curious what they look like you will have to do a search on ADVRIDER just put in PRO TAPER BARS and have look how nice they are,I would put a link in but im really not pc literate.Andy

My Pro Taper kit is winging its way across the Atlantic at the moment, ready for my Adventure's rebuild. Ricardo's home page is here. Be warned, by the time you buy the hand guard clamps as well, this is not a cheap conversion. If I didn't have to replace my handlebars & handguards anyway, I wouldn't have spent that amount of money (gulp - $385 delivered to the States )

pro tapers

mike your a lucky man,ive been thinking about these bars for a while now I guessed it would cost about £250 as there is a lot of work going into them, even at £250 he can't be making a lot of money out of these and the quality is superb, what color risers and bars have you gone for?cheers Andy

Andy,

Black risers & bars (no imagination:D ). Don't forget that £250 is delivered in the USA, you'll still have to pay carriage, import duty + VAT to get it into this country (duty & VAT are also due on he CARRIAGE costs!).....unless you have a method of avoiding these;) , that is....

Mind you, BMW handlebars are £90 + VAt, handguards are £60 + VAT per pair, er, umm, work with me on this, I'm trying to justify this...........

tax

mike it just happens that I work for an american company, i'll see if I can get mine posted to our head office in Arkansas,or I can ask my cousin who is married to USAF serviceman based at lakenheath, his parents live in Missouri and know for sure that I could get it posted there rewrapped and marked up PRESENT OR GIFT so i'm sure there is a way around this, just hope there are no tax/duty people reading this,im also going for the black bars and risers, but not just yet as I just fitted OHLINS and a power chip. What was the waiting time on them?. Cheers Andy

Andy,

He had a set ready, so he shipped them the same day (I paid using PayPal). I know that these bars sound like an extravagance, but I'm still trying to overcome the problems I've been suffering resulting in my hands seizing up, which has been traced to a trapped nerve in my neck, in turn caused by poor posture. Ricardo has a degree in some form of orthopaedic/chiropractic subject as well as being a top techie, and assures me (supported by many satisified customeer comments) that fitting these will help (against a money back guarantee).

MikeO:)

ps When I get back on the road (mid-March, with any luck) we could meet up so you can have a good look at them fitted, if you want....
