I have read a number of links concerning additional lights. I have fitted a set of cheap lights from Halfords and the difference is amazing. However, they are only connected to the main beam. I know that it would be easier to fit another set linked to the dip beam, but I would like a pair of additional lights that combined the dip and main beam in one lamp. Is there such a thing? If there is, who makes them and has anyone tried them?

Thank you! :beerjug:

Try a second pair of lights and a couple of relays. Several people on the board (myself included) use this wiring diagram that Gazza drew...

A pair of headlamps... Never seen any fitted, most people take the 4 lamp route, Rick Kuhn has fitted a Kawasaki front (check the Adv Rider site)end which gives him the light that a BMW should have, but a bit more than most of us could manage on a Saturday morning...

Used this diagram...

... that Mike kindly sent me. Workes perfectly, switching between lights with the main/dip switch. I added another switch into the signal wire for the dips, so I could turn them off if necessary. Finding room for the relays and extra wiring is tricky - they JUST fitted in behind the RID (but I do have a tendency to overengineer...).

PIAA do all sorts of combinations, 2, 3 and 4 in one. A bit pricey and I've not seen any in action so no I've no idea if it's what you're after.
Check out their web site - www.PIAA.com - (this is not a link, I don't know how to do that complex stuff).

Cheers Jim

Many car accessory shops and/or motor-factors supply combined fog/driving lamps but if you want to see some on-line go to Vehicle Wiring Products and take a peek at the ones they supply.

VWP are very good for everything auto-electrical and although you can pick up some items cheaper from a motor-factors they have a huge range of stuff available and the catalogue is very handy for reference, also their standard delivery is almost always next-day so there is no waiting.
