I'm going to try this way to connect with my mates. Seems it's really easy to me:

===========

I have cut this suggestion from a parallel thread.

Got a link, mate: https://discord.com/download

Sounds good and easy enough to do, i have used discord in the past for gaming when i used to play World of Warcraft.

I know he says in the video that internet is mostly stable, but in my experience its sketchy in the UK
especially in biker hotspots like the Highlands and Wales or just riding over the moors etc
There are deadspots in more urban areas too, when streaming music it often loses connection.

Would be interesting to gauge the experience in a real world test though.

“Kids” do this when they swarm around, but mostly in urban areas.
Don’t think it would be reliable/stable in most areas with weaker data coverage.

Tried it out on a day trip. Not too bad but certainly not that reliable. It cuts out regularly when connection is lost. We ended up jokingly saying if a leaf blew past your helmet it would cut out. We found it unusable in the South West Uk and stopped in at J and S on that day to buy to mesh units.

I'll give it a go and report back.

AFAIK Discord runs on mobile data -

No phone signal - no data transmission
