Discount?

Hi to all,

I have been on the Market for a mid size dual purpose bike for the last six months.

Having ridden 660 Tenere, Tiger 800 and the GS800 I am leaning towards the BMW.

I have found a dealer who will give me a good deal on my PX and a 5% discount for the bike and extras.

Because I'm a tight arse I was wondering if anybody knew of a dealer who could possibly beat this deal. I'm not too worried about the PX its the discount I'm interested in.

Any ideas are very much appreciated.

The p/ex deal you have been offered is wrapped up in the discount. If instead you were offered 10% discount then you would only get the peanuts for the p/ex but not the bag they were in as well.

I'm happy to get rid of the PX on Fleabay if I can secure a better discount than 5%. (forgot to mention this earlier)

The dealer offered the 5% before I even mentioned the PX

But, if he were offered 10% discount without px, he could flog the bike on for slightly more money privately or even for the px price for a quick sale and still be up on he deal.
In reality you stand fcuk all chance of getting 10% out of a Beemer dealer, I think it's a fairly safe bet that they are tighter than you

I managed to get a £230 pound additional discount when the salesman forgot to add in the OTR charges to a quote he sent me. That was in feb this year on a trophy on top of a £520 special allowance (standard model I was offered £750). When I rang him to try and replace it (stolen) with a 2013 bike max he would give me off was £250.

So far I can get £430 off a 2013 model and additional 5% off accessories.

Does anybody know what the staff discount is at BM?

Not too much the dealer can do with the price but you can get value other ways.
I got a free service and a one-piece waterproof for the cheek of asking.
