Hi All,

Not sure if I should post here or in the wanted section so will do both and hopefully the moderators will decide:bow

I am looking for a cheap front and rear disc with bolts for my 2007 DRZ SM as well as the bolts for the rear sprocket. Basically I have two sets of wheels but only one set of discs and want to make the switch as easy as possible. I don't need anything new or expensive as they will go on the off road wheels - anyone got anything gathering dust in their shed/garage that they want rid of?

Cheers

Simon

Be careful using the large SM front disc with a 21" wheel with a knobblie tyre on it. The braking force is huge and this will cause the front wheel to lock up with minimum effort on the front brake lever.
I had to give a lad a red card on one of my trail rides last month, his SM had 21"/18" wheels on it and his front brake cause numerous offs on wet tarmac, the final straw was when he skidded under the front of an oncoming farmer's Land Rover.
Fitting a smaller disc is recommended but then you need to move the caliper closer to the hub to suit the smaller disc, this is difficult with the USD forks fitted to the SM.

Timpo.

Thanks for the heads up Timpo :thumb - as you can probably tell I am new to this offroad lark and the bike came with the off road wheels on it fitted with the standard SM discs. I am not going to try anything too adventurous (at least to start with) and have already done some riding with the local TRF guys using this set up. Not sure that I could be bothered to change carriers and discs so I guess using the back brake more will be the order of the day.

Cheers
