folks,

I'm trying to dismantle the LHS pannier frame off a 1150GSA, specifically the hinge of the drop shelf (?) and the upright frame.
The frame plastic coating got melted by a Remus that was fitted when I bought the bike and I've meaning to get it recoated so...

I've taken the bolt out but it looks like theres a tube that runs the length of the hinge, but it's a tight fit, I've tried long bolt and some thick washers to try and draw the tube out but all I'm doing is bending progressively thicker washers :D.

Is there anything I'm missing before I stick it in the big vice and try and budge it ?

cheers

Give it a good tug Roddy!!!

You say it’s a good bit melted coz of the remus, I took mine off on Sunday n it has been subject to remus heat, but didn’t have a problem.
Think it just needs a good pull .

Get assertive :thumb2

Then again, I know **** all :D

I'll get assertively tugging then :)

The Remus on before, didn't have the baffle fitted and had an ill fitting extension tube on it, so that combination just concentrated the gases on the LHS rear upright and melted the coating, I did put the baffle back in and all seemed all okay.
