so i bought all the bits to put together a new PC, and i think i allmost know what im doing :rolleyes:

but anyone know wtf this connectors for ? (comes from the PSU) is it for a raid card, scsi drive ? or summit else.

Looks like a floppy drive power supply Red/Black/Black/Yellow

That looks like an ATX power supply - ought to be a socket for it near the (main) socket.

What sort of Motherboard do you have ?

Well done that man, dug an old floppy out of the back of the cupboard and it fits, not used one of them in years :beerjug:
 
1st one is floppy drive power.
2nd one is 4-pin 12v power (only used on some types of devices)

If you don't have anything to connect them to then simply tidy them up with tiewraps and ignore them.

Now going off line to canabilise my old system for graphics card and an IDE cable , i may be gone some time :confused:
 
second pic down is the extra plug for a P4 intel isn't it?

And me :thumb dead right Cookie, the PSU has a sticker on it for P4 use.

New system now up and running with AMD XP3000 @ 2100GHz 400MHz FSB, 512mb DDR, 80GB HDD

But, I Keep getting a mesage from some registry patch web site every time i log on to the net

Also used in some 64-bit AMD boards from ASUS. Had to ring my board supplier up, like a right numpty, when damned machine wouldn't start, to be told about need for extra 4 pin power plug to be actually connected.

Omelette sur le visage or what?
 
Fixing computers, fixing bikes. They're both the same. Always a few bits left over at the end... :rolleyes:
