On other bike forums I have been on there Is always loads of DIY activity but not here. It must be because the bikes are expensive and we are all a bit posh.
Anyway after buy a £15k bike and all the headlight protector, mudsling, hand guards, engine bars, head guards, mudguard extenders.........etc etc. I realised I didn't have any radiator guards and need to spend another £80. Hang on a moment if I could not make some of them in half an hour for £10 I am loosing my touch.
So off to B&Q bought some aluminium mesh, took the radiator surrounds off (three screws), cut the material with scissors and left a tag at the bottom to take the fixing screw. Clip the cover back on, screws back in and bosh job done.

We don't want your type on here; we only buy Touratwat and Wundalick. Now off with you :rob

PS. Good Job :thumb2

I'm off to B&Q then.... great tip, thanks for sharing.

I feel a 'what did you make your rad guards out of?' thread starting. Can't wait for the croshay ones. Machine washable, do not tumble dry.

I used woven stainless wire mesh on my Hexhead oil rad. Costs 2p on eBay and needs more effort to get a clean bend but it's still there after 3 winters and it looks OEM.

Sent somehow.

Looks great! :thumb although they may start to corrode quite quickly (just a thought)

Was in B&Q for a totally different reason when i happened to walk past the area that sell the mesh...:augie. So, on a whim, i have bought some and as luck would have it, have some black spray paint :clap.

So the weekend job will involve some cutting and painting for the rad guards followed by the install of the HEX ezCAN.:thumb2
