Do I need Swiss motorway tax.

Anyone have a telephone number for the purchase of a vignette prior to travel the telephone number I have is out of date and the one given via voice mail is Wrong as I have found out

Norrie
If you enter switzerland by autoroute, you'll get plenty of opportunities to buy a vignette.

They take credit cards

I have never bought a Swiss Vignette, You need to enter the country on a non motorway road, once got the gestapo treatment on the border near Chamonix, leaving the country, but just denied using the motorway.

i'm so far ahead, that even if I do get pulled, the fine will be immaterial!

Tax evasion is surely a Swiss art speciality?

Never bought one either.
[other than a truck]
i just knock off toll roads at the swiss borders :thumb

No you dont,if you have a gps just set it to avoid motorways.

My Garmin was not reliable in this situation even when I told it to avoid the motorways. I found sometimes a new tunnel or bypass around a small town would be earmarked as requiring a vignette. I rode from Basel to Zurich and ultimately Voralberg in Austria but it took a while.

It's very easy to end up on a "Green" route in error and will be much more expensive if you get caught. Not worth the hassle for £24.

Dave

indeed.

just keep off the main motorways and see the country slowly

If not in a rush bsogri is right.

here's a town that Philzafuka might like. Never mind crossing the Rubicon.

are we relying on you to keep us safe John :comfort

Always worth being around Stolzy when he's dealing with officialdom, bureaucracy, jobs worths, rules that need breaking, systems that are designed to be tested etc. Safe and entertained too probably.
Agree though, stay off the motorway as much as possible is my experience.
