To answer your question: You need the MyRoute-app in order to navigate.

You create routes in Routeplanner and then (assuming you want to stay within the MyRoute family) you navigate the route via the separate MyRoute-app. If you want to navigate the route you created via, say, a Garmin or TomTom device, the same applies. Create the route in Routeplanner and then send it to your Garmin or TomTom device.

Though Routeplanner and and the MyRoute-app are separate entities (one for route creation, the other for route navigation) they are now interlinked seamlessly.

If you just want to be told how to navigate from A to B, say from Dublin to Cork, you can do it just in the My-Route app. Though for anything more complex or for bespoke routes that you might create yourself, you’ll need, Routeplanner.
Cheers Richard, and I guess they have a good set of maps for morocco.

In the Gold version, MyRoute offer up a pretty broad cross-section of map layers all of which you can create a route on. You can also create straight line routes, A to B to C…. to Z, if no roads are shown. That being said, if you want to go deep ‘off-road’, better apps and GPS devices (if you plan to use a phone) are probably available.

Heading off on my own, there will be little bravery shown to adventurous off road activities.....

I was in Morocco twice this year tried using MRA and found that it was hopeless both for planning and Navigation. For navigation all the street names in the app were in Arabic and the maps seemed woefully incomplete. I contacted their support and got the answer that why would i expect the signs to be in English. I answered that I didnt and that the signs were actually in French which I can read. I really like MRA as a planning tool but the Navigation App is lets just say a work in progress, I have been a Beta tester for the last year and have given up on it and gone back to a Garmin XT.
I ended up using HereWe go (you can download the maps) and Google Maps which worked well. If and when I return on the GS I will buy the Garmin maps for Morocco. I bought a SIM card on arrival and had great coverage everywhere.
