Can I fix it (JIM?) so that my ipod only shuffles a particular playlist rather than it's entire music library? Also can I do that on iTunes?
I'm sick of rushin to turn off Michel bloody Thomas's French lessons :mcgun after just gettin into the mood wi Queen's "it'sakindamagic' or somethin similar.
cheers

1. Set yourself up a new playlist (I have one named Shuffle)

2. Put all the music that you want on the shuffle into that playlist (it won't be deleted from your main library)

3. Plug in Ipod Shuffle, Highlight it in itunes and select contents tab at the top of the main screen.

4. At the bottom of this screen you can select exactly which playlist you want on the shuffle (Autofill from:)

5. Select the playlist you just created

6. Job done!

This system applied for any number of Ipods using the same library.

Tunner, partial success, thanks. :thumb2
I can now shuffle selected playlists on iTunes, but can I do it on the actual iPod itself when disconneted from the pc? I still can't manage that. Is it do-able?

I'm using Nano and 4th gen (photo) hard drive models. Can't see anyway of shuffling individual playlists on those models. Anybody know if it can be done?

Sorted

Set the Ipod to shuffle songs, return to main menu select the playlist you require and it will shuffle the songs in it, as long as the crossed arrow shuffle sign is showing on the screen
