Heading up this weekend over the border from Englandshire for one night, so havent got the time to get reet up north... Decided to try out the Dumfriess and Galloway area....

Any recommendations of roads to ride, things to see.... Everyone seems to just blast up past the south of Scotland... I'm sure they must be missing out...

Already got a few waypoints... That there Tibetan Monestary thingy... a brew at St Marys Loch... Where else should we go... ??? Any advice greatly appreciated :thumb:thumb:thumb:thumb

You could head from Dumfries to Moniaive, stop at the Green Tea room for a great cuppa and something to eat. Then head from Moniaive down to the Galloway Park and ride the Raiders Road.
look at the map because there's loads of great places to stop and pick any of them for great roads to ride and views.

Ride the A712 "The Queens Way" from Newton Stewart to New Galloway if you have a dual sport with lot sof supple suspension. A great road.

Another? Head north out of Newton Stewart and turn right onto the minor road at Bargrennan. Heads generally north to Straiton through the Gletrool Forest. Bear right at Laglanny, probably signposted Stinchar Bridge. At the bridge you have the option of taking the unmade "Forest Drive" to Loch Doon. Just about as close as it gets to off-roading in Scotland.
