they all do that!
headlight flashes once when I turn the ignition on and every now and then I get a groan (from the bike not from me) when I switch the ignition on. Apart from that it's running sweet :)

don't know about the headlight flash - mine doesn't but the 'groan' sounds like the servo brakes...

think you could have hit the nail right on the head with the pies, wonder is the headlight flash because it's got a factory fit alarm???

Nope it's the indicators that flash when arming /disarming.

Yep, I know, just wondered if the alarm is causing the headlight to flash, the alarm isn't set to auto arm now so I'll recheck to see if it still does it.

Funnily enough, my headlight used to flash when turning the igition on. Doesn't do it now.

Fully Charged Battery...?

Similar thing happened to me a while back. Recharged the battery - it needed a good eight hours! Since then the bike has been a dream. Don't get it, but there it is. :nenau

Mine flashes its headlight when the ignition is turned on, some of the time at least.

I always assumed it was the bike checking if the headlight bulb is working.

Or, it could be that the control unit that powers the lamp has a persistent internal state that is only reset by whatever control logic runs the headlight once every second or so. Therefore if you turn the bike off with the light on, there's a chance that when you turn it back on the lamp will be on for a short length of time until the control unit gets around to noticing that the engine isn't turning, and so turns it off again.

That's the software developer in me speculating though :)
