Trying to download :augie 'free' music.

Using piratebay and utorrent but don't seem to be getting anywhere!!

Anyone have some advice please.
Seems to take a while to download and 1 song is 8mb, is this right?
Not sure if i am doing it all correct anyway!!

H E L P :D

I'm told www.isohunt.com is a good place to look for stuff :augie

Is the song 8mb, or is that the amount you've uploaded? Be worth looking at how you've set utorrent up too.

to get maximum speed you need to be connected to as many others as possible. to achieve this you have to make sure the relevant ports are open on your router.

google "utorrent port forwarding".

8MB per song is probably about average.

Ok will have a look, is it any easier than the aforementioned one do you know?

kinda
it just takes longer for each peer to connect if port forwarding isn't set up as the requests have to be confirmed between router and PC before the route is allowed

I reckon the big issue is that your trying to download a single track, nobody does that on P2P networks anymore so your probably downloading from very few people or your downloading something proporting to have more seeds than it has and is probably malicious or just a .rar or .zip compressed file that you have to sign up to a mailing list and do a survey to get the password to un-lock it

I reckon your best bet is isohunt.com - search for the album the track is on, sort the results by the amount of seeds and download the the one that has a reasonable number and no bad comments or ratings (the other users come down heavy on dodgy files so you'll usually see 2-3 negative reviews if it's bad)

do you want to download it or just have a listen?
if you just want to listen grooveshark.com is a lot easier

You have a number of options:

FREE: Dowload the audio from youtube, save it as an MP3, job done.

or

£5-£15ish a month : Subscribe to a usenet provider like Giganews, you get basically the whole web, everything and anything, movies, tv, software, music, just take a look at NZBmatrix for example. The good thing is it is NOT filesharing per se, so your never sharing whats on your own computer and it downloads at FULL spead unlike perr to peer sites. Mac or PC, i even have it on my android phone and tablet (try getting that on an un jailbroken iphone!!).
You do not need ANY movie channels or catchup TV with this, seriously it's amazing.

any questions just pm me.
