Just got my 800 back and it needs an oil change. Where can I get an sump washer? as there aren't any BMW places near me (Solihull). I was in Oxford before and it was easy to go to the dealer there. I didn't realise there aren't any nearby TIA.

any bike shop that sells spares as long as you know the size. There can't be many sizes to choose from and they cost pence so you could just ask for one of each size.

Thanks, I have the part number, but not the size, and I don't want to take it off first! Anyone know the size?

Is it the same as the other models, as Halfords stocks some, but the f800GS is not on the list. Am I right in thinking that another bike might share the same size?

Re-use the one you've got. In 30+ years of DIY servicing I've never had one leak. If it really bothers you get a box of assorted copper washers from a spares shop (or Aldi when they're in stock). They don't have to fit down to a 2 thou tolerance!

Just anneal the old one if you want to reuse it by heating until it glows red, then let it cool slowly in the air.

I've found the size measurements now so I can ask at the auto parts place where I've ordered an oil filter from.
