Dry Cleaning

After some negotiation the dry cleaners in rednal next to Clarkes are offering an express service for BMW related bike kit. Apparently they have a special deal on where if you actually get dust or dirt on any rallye 2 or BMW riding gear they will clean it again for free.
This seems to be a genuine offer for anyone who can prove they spend more time cleaning their bike than riding it, also the car cleaning place at Kings Norton is now offering jet washing for £2.50 for the bike with the rider at no extra charge
Finally , either of the above offer a free service to anyone getting the bike or kit dirty more than once a year

Over the many years I have enjoyed trail riding, the odd enduro, and also the odd LDT.

There is nothing better than having a good days off roading and coming home with the bike and yourself covered in crap.

But, the bike and all my gear was always cleaned and inspected ready for the start the next off road event.

Of course there are those that choose not to clean anything, coz looking filthy is considered cool.

And there are those that consider looking after their machine & equipment plus carrying out any preventative maintainance is more importance than looks.....but each to their own really

Look after your kit

Yes, for sure it is imperative you look after your kit . Having spent a lot of my life doing wilderness tripping, expeditions and mountaineering your kit is a lifesaver . Well used, well looked after kit is always preferable as you know you can rely on it . For me it's all about keeping stuff in good working order, and fit for purpose. A bit like a GS really , a few scratches, dirt lurking in the odd cranny.................... but everything as it should be and always ready for the next event or a long ride .
I always look after my stuff but ensure I really use it for what I believe it is intended....................and have the maximum fun I can, which to me is all built into the cost of buying the best you can to start with
