Anyone know where I could locate some dry ice locally? I want to try to freeze a small dent out of a petrol tank. seen the demo on youtube seems to be a piece of cake.

mmmm.... more U tube vids seem to confirm it does not work, but worth a go I guess if dry ice is not expensive.

the dry Ice I've seen is in block form you can buy special liquid stuff that seems to work better.

Or use a compressor that's how I split a tank :blast

I'll give those allaboutice guys a tinkle to see what costs are likely to be. If extortionate it will be back to the drawing board.
It does seem on youtube (search for dry ice dent repair) that some haven't had much luck with it and the devil may be in the detail ie not warm enough before attempting repair and not cold enough due to poor application/wrong product used.

Dry Ice,
Easy to make if you know someone with a CO2 bottle, a clamp goes on the outer nozzle with a disc maker that makes dry ice blocks about 2" dia by about 1" thick. The valve assembly is available from BOC but if you know anyone in a labs they usually have one of these clamps
