For an S model, year 2000.
wemoto list them at a few pence under £90.
For a petrol cap.
Ninety UK pounds.
I've bought complete bikes for not much more than that.
They don't stock them either so special order only.
Anyone know a source for these caps, preferably a little cheaper than that ?
Thanks very much.

Good luck

I was in the same boat a few months ago, looked everywhere and had to bite the bullet in the end and get one ordered from here, as you know they're fookin expensive

Be careful

Pop down to a Off Road bike dealer. I am guessing there is an after market fit for around £30.

Just found this on Ebay:-

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Suzuki-DRZ-400-DRZ400-FUEL-CAP-Billet-Alloy-GOLD-C4-/370447258242

And theres all sorts of colours here:-

Not lockable I know but to get that I guess you will have to pay £90 at your local stealers.

I bought one of these, it didnt fit!

The tank I have came with no cap and I don't know what it's supposed to look like so ebay is out unless I can be certain of the fit and the internal measurements.
The bike dealer is a good idea and think I'll pop down to the local one, tank in hand so to speak.
Then I'll try Robinson's, thanks hops.
Thanks very much people, appreciated.

They state that they are only for drz400e NOT the S version.

Thank you young Richard.
Yes I spotted that as well.
As it happens I have today ordered a pattern type through my local bike shop for £20 which is much more like it.
Also nearly, but not quite, had a friends Harley petrol cap that so nearly fits.
That would have been even cheaper at a cost of a couple of pints.

You would get a standard tank off Ebay cheaper than 90 quid.
Might be worth a try.

Thank you young doyle.
I already have the tank, and the cap is now on order for £20.
I haven't looked on ebay but probably true.

Just a little update.
The ordered petrol cap arrived but sadly did not fit, so if you suddenly come across a DRZ400S petrol cap in your spares box then please get in touch.
Thank you.

Hold on a mo......
The earlier posts have mentioned 'E' caps will not fit 'S' caps......
Isn't the 'S' cap a lockable one? IIRC it's steel with a lock that the ignition key fits......?
If the oem cap is £90, you'd be better putting that money to a larger tank, say 15 litres, thus ridding yourself of the minute 10 litre unit, getting a tank with a cap, and moving your bike another step towards one of the best trail bikes available.:D

Or just sell it all and buy a KTM!

:D

Thanks very much Timpo,
Yes the S cap is lockable and I assume in steel but I haven't got one so a little unsure on this.
And the bike did come with a 19 litre Clarke tank which is what I always use.
But recently bike has been a little hesitant on the starting front and getting to the choke lever is impossible with the Clarke tank so thought it would be a good idea to get a cap for the smaller standard tank and then I could test out the starting procedure with the choke. I guess I'm being a bit greedy really but the standard tank is here and seems a shame for it to be unusable for the sake of a cap.
A carb., Keihin, strip and clean is planned for the winter as well though.
And thanks very much for the idea Greg, I'll bear it in mind but for now I'll pass thank you.
