Hello all boffins,

I want to set up an dual operating system with 98se and windows XP. I have a shiny new 120gb hardisk to put them on.

What OS should be put on first? Can I have a partition in fat 32 and 1 in NTFS?

Windows 98se will be used for old games that fail to run on Xp. Xp will be used for everything else.

Cheers me dears

Bob

Windows XP can use FAT32 or NTFS. Win98 can only use FAT32. That means if you boot Win98 you won't be able to see the drive with XP on it. Your choice.

I would suggest that you install Win98 first then follow with XP. XP, based on NT, has a much better multi-boot loader.

Bob....chances are the '98 games will run on XP with a bit of tweaking.........anything in particular that's not loading????

(have you tried running them in compatability mode???)

I use removable hard drives - different operation system on each. And one has two ...
I have two slots for the remvable hard dives on the computer - one on the primary IDE the other on the secondary IDE. This way I can transfere (or back up) data from one drive to the other.

Just another variation.
