Have a pair of Alpinestar GPS waterproof boots, which served me well on my VFR 800, but are now ragged.
I have changed over to a R1200GSA and was thinking of doing an off-road course. For that would need something with proper ankle protection. The majority of my riding will be more touring though.
Probably go SIDI this time, so looking at the options:

Sidi Adventure - seem to fit the dual-use criteria, but are they enough for off-road use?
Sidi Crossfire - seem ideal for off-roading, but too much for touring?

Or just get another touring boot and get a MX boot when taking the course?

Why does life have to be so complicated :blast :D

The old dilemma

The Sidi Adventures (Uk spec with goretx and leather) are a pretty roboust boot and have a fair bit of ankle armour that would shame some offroad boots from the previous decade . They are however not cheap and a little shorter than full enduro boots so would you want them trashed? if just doing lighter stuff then why not.
I have a pair and the only thing really missing is the steel toeguard though I suspect one could be retro fitted.

You only have one pair of boots?:nenau
Surely you should have a wardrobe full of gear like the rest of us?? :thumb
I quite like my Sidi Black Rain for summer use but something more substantial for the winter seems in order.

Have two pairs now. Got the Sidi Adventures. Lovely boot, very comfortable.

I used to use Sidi Black Rain, but have now changed to Sidi Couriers - much harder wearing, and so easy to put on (no zips), i love em.
