Hope you can help. I need a new set of tyres for my 2000 F650GS. I read the other thread but that was for pure onroad tyres.

I do the majority of my riding on road, but also do some light off road - Salisbury Plain, fire trails, and hopefully a bit of mud and ruts.

Anyone got any recommendations for a good dual purpose tyre please?

Thanks in advance.

for my 1200, i have been using karoo. it is ok, but most of my friends ride with tkc's which lasts longer miles

I was tempted to chop the Tourances in for Pilot Road II on my Adv, but after a recent trip to France - can't really see the need to change - they are ace :thumb2

Can you get Tourances for the 650? if so............ go for them :thumb2

Al :D

Cheers guys. Tourance were what I was thinking of. So while I'm feeling lucky, does anyone know of a good fitter in around Southampton ish area? We've previously used our mechanic guy in Lymington but have become rather disillusioned with his service of late.

Go for the Continental escapes. They are as good as Tourances and a lot cheaper :rob Got them on my dakar and they are brill

Nettie, Tourances are good for road use and ok for dry trails but if you you plan on getting into some mud then I would definately recommend Continental TKC 80s - they are the best all-purpose tyre I have used on my Dakar. I use Tourances through the summer but swap to TKC80s for the winter as I live out in the sticks and have to ride 1/2 a mile to get to tarmac from my house.
