If you are talking mapping why not consider OpenStreetMapping (OSM)? It's free and appears to be detailed and up to date in Dubai

Thanks Kritou - How do I access this and can I load onto Nav IV ?

I was in Abu Dhabi last year only saw 1 bike, and that was parked. Standard of driving did not inspire me to consider riding!

I lived in Dubai for 3 years (up to Summer 2011). Traffic wise, I would see no problems riding in Dubai. Traffic can be heavy; the standard of driving can be poor (particularly drivers from the Indian sub-continent), but no worse than a lot of other big cities. Some of the main highways can be up to 10 lanes in each direction, which takes some getting used to.

But the biggest problem will be the heat in the summer months: winters will be ok, as it hovers around 30 DegC. But summers (up to 50DegC) are a whole different ball game. So, in Summers you will only go out on early mornings or late evenings.

Bikes in Dubai are, seemingly, predominantly Harleys or bikes for going off into the dunes. Some GS's around though and some biker clubs that organise ride-outs
