Ducati Beeston

Excellent, good news for the end of the year. I hope this car group is decent.

Good to see a dealership opening up.

Hopefully the big boys will listen and maybe make having a main dealership more manageable and not being so demanding over the standard of lighting , carpets, crappers and god knows what else.

Funnily enough I passed it yesterday en route to the old Pidcock BMW place.

Nice bikes in there, and I spotted this leviathan of a rear tyre !!!!!!!

Yes hopefully good news for us Ducati owners :)

Have already exchanged a couple of emails with Mark as my DDX is due a service first week in Feb but they are not yet in a position to take bookings. Have therefore booked it in with Cornerspeed in Sutton-in-Ashfield who have a very good reputation and I am equidistance between the two.

Cornerspeed are fantastic

Another recommendation for Cornerspeed. They serviced my Desert X in November and they were excellent and well priced. A real old school feel to the place but they obviously really know their stuff. Long waiting time as they are so popular.

That site has a long history of housing motorcycle shops - Got my Electra Glide from Robin Hood Harley when they occupied that showroom and a VFR from a previous Honda dealership, forget what they were called. I may have a poor memory, but Granby Motors rings a bell but not sure if that's right, does anyone know ?

From my recollection I thought Harley was the only place on that particular site before Ducati, but Granby were just off Wollaton street nearer the centre. I remember that as went to School in Beeston and often spent lunchtimes with my face pushed up against their window lusting after the latest Kwak AR80/125, and eventually 10+ years later purchased a new Honda CB500 from them in 1995 as my first bike after passing my test.

Honda did for a time move to Mapperley top (where KFC is now) but I can't remember if that was Pidcocks and then under Pidcocks moved to an industrial estate in Long eaton (a bit closer to town that the BMW dealership but on the same road). I purchased a Honda CT125 from Curtis there in 2012 after being off bikes for a few years, and Curtis ended up in the Ducati shop under Pidcocks.

What year did you buy the VFR @GSite ?

Granby also had another site for a while in Bobbers Mill I remember popping into once or twice.

Got that VFR in late 90's, forget the year, a reminder to pull out my file of old invoices, what a sado. I do recall getting another VFR from Granby's Mansfield site later on though. An old lady reversed into the bike next to mine which may be why the collection day sticks in my mind. I also bought a bike from Curtis at Pidcock's Honda in 2009 just before Jap bikes escalated in price that year. A brand new CB1300S for £5800.

Opened this week on Tuesday, although they have been trading bikes on Autotrader for a little longer. Has anyone been yet ?

And there was Walkers in Mapperly, and a Honda dealer Mappery Top........good days doing the Saturday run on mopeds to tour the dealers.
CMC in Daybrook another one !

I bought my Multi Rally from Curtis a couple of years ago. I dont think he is back at Beeston, last I heard he had a good job with Scorpion Exhausts.
