Just wondered if anybody on here knew what the K, M, P, U etc ment on tyres?

Basically, I've ordered and recieved a tyre for a CB1300, it's a D220 ST 180/55/ZR17 however I'm told I need a 'K' and not the basic non lettered tyre:confused:

Is there much difference or should I just use it anyway?

Cheers:thumb2

I suspect that this bike had a tyre made specially for it with the 'K' designation; lots of (particularly heavier) bikes have special OE fitments but usually it is OK to go with the standard grade of tyre. What does the manufacturer's website or information leaflets say?

I phoned Dunlop to ask them and I got passed on from room to room, even got a supposed technical expert on his mobile, but non of them could tell me! you'd think that someone would know :blast
