Reliably informed today, well actually saw them in the catalogue Dunlop BT020'NT made specifically for the GS. If you dont offroad this should make for a smoother ride. Had a few sets before on my pan and can recommend them. Better grip on the road than Tourances and good life 10k miles

Dunlop?????

Gazza,

sure they are not Bridgestone???

Heard about them from tyre distributor at Rydale open day last year, he said they would be available from Jan 04.

Pidcocks Nottingham

Looked at them in their tyre catalogue. Give them a ring 0115 9462233 ask for Keith Ashley Service Manager.

How do the Bridgeatones as original equipment on the GS stack up against the Tourance. Just noticed that my new bike will have Bridgestones. Can get them changed to Tourances if I need to .....any comments.

If you're talking about the Trailwings (rather than the new BT020) I'd get them changed for Tourrances. Found them much better than the TW and the Michelin T66 in the wet.

Trailwings No

Got trailwings on my xtz bloody crap in the wet. Andy as Steve says go for the Tourances.

If it's a brand new bike you may have to take pot luck as to what boots it's gonna wear...

I asked if I could specify Tourances on my new 1150 but the dealer couldn't guarantee it. Apparently they just grab whatever's handy in the factory and bung 'em on. Fortunately, it arrived with Tourances but like I say, that was pot luck.

Either that or the dealer couldn't be arsed to change 'em :)

Tyres

If Bridgestone 020 ARE gonna be available in GS sizes, they could be the 'hoops to have'. Used them in the past and the combination of grip/wear was unbeatable. Utterly astonishing in the wet; never before or since had wet grip like it!

....not much use off-road, though!......

Pidcocks was closed yesterday so I tried Bridgestone UK direct and got the following reply:

Hi Rob,

Bridgestone are indeed bringing out a 110/80ZR19 BT-020 (we already have the
150/70ZR17 BT-020 in our range). The first shipments are due in February,
but as with all things this date may shift by a month. We are literally
sitting here waiting for delivery date confirmation as I type this. If they
are due for shipment to us in February, I would advise contacting your
dealer sometime halfway through the month. They in turn will contact their
distributor who can give them up to date information on availability.

I think the Tourance on mine are good but I've had BT020s before and they are really good wet or dry.
