I'm still of the opinion that the big GS's aren't meant for enduro style offroad and are more suited to the milder green lanes. I didn't spot this one at the time but it looks like the sand pit got its first victim:eek: It should polish out with a bit of Solvol and a tie wrap to hold it together for the journey home;)

If anyone can log onto the Dutch site it would be great to thanks them for a fantastic weekend and I look forward to next years in Belgium.:thumb2

Not sure of the full details on this but I heard it was a road incident not an off road accident. Bit nasty either way but by the look of it the thing had been rebuilt and resdesigned - maybe he forgot to tighten up the head stock and bolt the engine back in ;) Surprisingly and happily I don't think the rider was hurt.

Yup, this had nothing to do with off-roading.

Happened on the road, he was hit by an MG :blast

The custom frame was bent inwards. It went the other way when the bike was strapped to the trailer.

The (very skilled off-road) rider Henry walked away unhurt.

Cheers,
Michel

Thanks again to Marc for the hospitality on the thursday and nice to meet all the other GSers I talked to meet/there. Had a fantastic weekend. Shame we had to leave on the Sunday morning but Merv (Mermoto) had to get back for work on the monday.

:)

I was at the Valburg event as well, and from the Dutch GS Club forum I was attentioned about this tread here.
Reading your comments I can see that you had a great time but I also notice that some of you are quite interested and moved by the local WW II history of the Arnhem area.
Sorry to read that afterwards because I guide one-day tours in the Arnhem and Oosterbeek area for people interested in what happenned there back in 1944.
Personally I have spent quite some time last Sunday in the area of Driel, where the Polish para's landed and to where the 2400 survivors of the Oosterbeek perimeter were sent to after they crossed the river.

If you ever plan to come over again to this area please feel free to contact me for an appointment.
I'm not a proffesional, and I can't tell you the exact details about which unit was in which location, but I can give you a good overall impression of the area, using maps, photos and books.
And it;s dead cheap..:) Normally I end the tour with a good chinese diner in Oosterbeek and all I ask is a free meal and a couple of drinks. Devide that amount over 5 people in a group and you're talking 5 pounds each
I do this for fun, not for a living.
You can contact me for this by email via: rob "at" twenot.nl

Cheers guys and hopefully we'll meet some day..:)
