Whilst starting my bike this evening I noticed a little "E3" appear in my rider display unit. Once the engine was running it went out.

A quick search on Internet for what this indicates gave various solutions - dead battery in alarm key fob (I don't have an alarm); dead battery; faulty CAT; duff O2 sensor and corroded electrics within the fuel pump controller.

So, does anyone on here know?

Cheers

^^ What I was going to say so you can check whilst it's running. It might be an O2 sensor?

O2 sensors can be damaged when a coil starts to fail. The resulting rich mixture clogs the sensor.
The 911 won't directly diagnose a coil fault. It's done by following the trail of other symptoms.

Well it wasn't a "one off". There again this morning.

Bike appears to be running fine. I guess once it starts showing some symptoms I'll find out what it is :thumb2

I'll pop into ABW sometime - they have diagnostics (and more importantly someone who understands them!)

Cheers
