Collected my bike from it's service and dropped Tash's off for it's first last week.
Went East as some wee cnut burnt west doon, for my service.
I asked them to check corrosion out as my warranty is nearly up. Rusty bolts,spokes usual front engine cover, filler cap paint bubbled, hub paint bubbled. Engine cover was replaced and service carried out:thumb Was told that BMW would not cover corrosion.
Went back yesterday to collect Tash's bike asked again about corrosion and got the answer take a photo. The bikes outside would you look at it "no I don't have a camera":confused:
Eventaully one bloke looked at it in a manner of couldnabefuked and said send a letter to BMW.


Got key for Tash's bike asked where the bike was and he couldn't understand what I was saying as I had put my helmet on or was being awkward I'll give him the benefit:augie told not his department went outside had a smoke and had a bite lip moment then went into workshop and got one of the mechanics to find Tash's bike and bring it out.
Hope Andy got better treatment

On the other hand nipped into the cold burnt out shell of West last week on the way past, smiley happy faces, cup of tea and some craic can't wait until it's open again, as far as using East again I think I'll go to Calterdon:( until West is back up and running again. Either an East coast thing or they dinnae like West's customers.

Must’ve been bad !!

It's not bad work but you can get the same attitude closer to your doorstep:(

Same company but vastly superior on customer service on the West side
 
I only went to pick-up Thunders new bike the other month after his off, and met a fantastic bunch of people,couldn't do enough for me and they looked after Thunder very well. Top guys the West lot:thumb
 
well the East dealership is about half a mile from me and they're bloody fantastic, never had anything but exemplary service from them....you must have got served by someone from the West side or it's just you....:augie

I mean I can't understand you FFS and I'm highly educated....:blast
 
Johnnie, you should be able to get some of the corrosion damage done under warranty although it does seem to be up to the particular dealer.

There is a point where they can say corrosion is due to lack or care and cleaning (so I was told) but they should replace seriously corroded parts.

I got the two stands replaced as well as the engine cover and bolts. Maybe try a different dealer ?

The dealer I used was the one I bought the bike from, don't know if that made any difference. At the end of the day, it's not the dealer paying for it but BMW.

Called BMW customer services as told by service chappie

"You need to take your bike to the service manager for inspection as we can do nothing here"
 
It's not often we hear of bad service at Motorrad Central but

Never had anything other than a pleasurable experience from visits to West and main business with East.

A more pleasant group of people would be hard to find.

Maybe you should dry your bike off after a ride,

Same here Kenny, just had the brush off yesterday for some reason or other Another Tosser was in the shop at the time and he even commented. It was maybe because I was a West customer. Or that I had said when Tash's bike went in that the chain was slack and not adjusted correctly when bike was put together that gave them the hump. Rusty bolts I can handle but paint bubbling up on tank filler and hubs that is common problem I can't, even more so since I got the brush off. Then left to find the just serviced bike.
Got a call from the new manager today and he's looking into it.
Not looking for the Royal red carpet but after just buying a bike off them 2 services and looking to upgrade I expected a wee bit more, but then may have been spoiled by the service from Bishopbriggs

Did you have bad quality of work done on the bikes or was it just bad customer service? have heard m c e had aquired a techy from another local dealer and the two guys in the workshop were working to a high standards.

Work was absolutely fine just a funny attitude yesterday
