Three of us popped off during Easter break (Fri- Sun) An ST and 2 WCs.
The hi level plan looked like this.

Planned to go down on day 1 and play in borders area after visiting someone in Edin who is recovering from cancer.
Also a chance to rack up some miles.

So various back roads to get us south of Kielder Forest, then head up through it. :clap2: Usual fun and quite a few bikes out.

Then back into the home country. No passport control as yet and stayed in St Boswells.

At start of Day 2 it was burn up some miles to get us down to Ripon then work our way back Northwards through some fantastic roads in the Yorkshire Dales. Name of the game was to keep to B and C roads as the A roads were chocka with the Easter traffic.
Mental note don't do that again, England is a busy place during the big holiday times.
That said whenever we stopped in the wee villages there were 100s of bikes. Some amazing bits of kit and nice to see so many old Brits out and about, treated to a Manx Norton on full chat on a big sweeper what a lovely sound. :thumb2

If Calsberg did viaducts.

Day 2 was a long day we were out until 10 pm and stopped in Ayr. A great day’s riding.

Day 3 we first went up the coast road from Saltcoats, Arran was magnificent in the morning sun and mist.

The Ferry from Gourock across to Dunoon was only £4

Then picked up roads we are probably more familiar with on the Forum. Special mention for the A819 that goes from Inveraray to A85. Stunning road, I suspect it will be even better in the other direction. I will be back to try. :D
Green Welly was awash with bikes, in fact parking was all up the main road.

To summarise a super 3 days, and so lucky with the weather, bone dry, cloudless and temps around 18C. :thumby:
New bike was a stormer, well pleased with its performance, comfort and overall returned 52mpg over c900 miles.

Lovely report
We too had a great weekend in Dumfries & Galloway
Not a drop of rain the whole 4 days

There are some brilliant roads down there that almost everyone misses out on as the visitor focus is usually on the Highlands, but it is well worth turning right as you cross the border.
