Sunday Ride

Hi All,

Great day on Sunday, not yet bent my bike into shape again (:augie) but have got the bits to stick my bash plate back again:clap!!!
Throttle stuck a bit on the way home, so I set it to 'medium' and got back in no time.

Great Pics and Video

Horse1200 Thanks again

Blueflame how the *@$# did you do that on those tyres?????????:nenau:nenau:bow
Keep me posted on the next one and hopefully the glue and gaffa tape will have dried and I'll be road worthy again!

Regards

Chod

Guys it was great fun even on my little XR. Makes me realise I'll need to change the tourances on the 1200 before I venture out with it in conditions like that, as I'm no Blueflame!

Great to see the pics and videos, it almost makes up for missing the pints and the chat after. Till the next one.....

I think this was more by luck than judgement and a certain naivety, looking back at the pics I have no idea and consider myself fortunate to have survived the experience with only bashplate realignment required :thumb additional bits for the bike in the planning, think i got the bug :likeit

Thanks to you all

Well fella`s, thankyou to all for making the effort and turning out for the first little trip i have organised. I have already had the os map out and am planning the next one. All welcome and anyone have a lane they fancy doing again let me know. One lane springs to mind :eek, im sure when i decided to attempt the last hole there were some other bikes in front of me, strange when looked again there was none. Well as the ice wasnt broke as i went diving in, can only mean several other riders must have missed out on that hole.:chickendance

S'funny that coz when I went through there was no hole, musta been that 2" thick layer of ice hiding it before you took the plunge :D
Good for you for trying it though.
I was tempted, but having already watched better riders than me giving it a wide berth I chickened out.
Would definately like to do that lane again though, heapsa fun.
And thanks again for organising it, count me in for the next one :thumb

Any chance an 800GS on standard road rubber would cope. Basingstoke is less than 10 miles away from me if the route is ever repeated. I've ridden the bike even in the minus temperatures we have had recently as well as the snow. Its changed colour from grey to a sort of off white road salt colour but i suspect a bloody good go at it with a jetwash will bring it back to an almost recognisable condition. I'f also like to be in a position where i dont break anything, as im merely a humble low paid (UN)civil servant,lol......

Well i think a little trip towards end of the month might be a go. If your all up for it i will start planning again. mark2jags, if you dont try you wont know. Bury the throttle and get in there.

I will plan someting and put it in the south west area thingy again.

CHEERS ALL:thumb2

the 800 should be much more suited to a lot of the lanes around there as you've not got to massive pots to get stuck on, but you'll probably want to get some knobblies on it, I still can't believe Blueflame got through on Tourances

two massive pots to get stuck on, well tha just requires some more application of the right hand in a counter clockwise direction, (GIVE IT WELLIE) and as ive found out she will plough through.

Our friend on the tourances did extremely well, he did not do the last lane, Very wise move. As it would have been time to break out the tow ropes.

I think a ride out will soon be beckoning again towards the end of the month. Keep checking the south east area for more details.
