I've just logged on to ebay to bid for an Item and after confirming my bid was asked to enter my credit card details to confirm my identity.
Needless to say I didn't as I thought this seemed a bit odd???
My MSN homepage looks a bit funny too, it all seems kinda compressed and too small for the monitor.
Has my pooter been violated:confused:

Yes.
Probably a browser hijack.run adaware, a full av scan and don't ever give out your details.

I remember having to give them my credit card details when I first set the account up, especially when you are selling something. There should be contact details on ebay, call or log a support call for them. This site can't give you definitive answer that you are safe (or not).

From the ebay help pages....

Submitting your credit card details
There are two places where eBay may ask you for your credit card details, and one where PayPal may ask for them. The first place on eBay is when you register for a seller's account. Here you may be asked to enter your credit card details for verification purposes. Please rest assured that we use very secure technology to transmit your details, that we use them in this instance for verification purposes only, and that we will never share your credit card details with anybody else.

The other place on eBay is if you choose to pay your seller's fees by credit card. Once again, we use very secure technology to transmit your details, we use them in this instance only for collecting your seller fees, and we will never share your credit card details with anybody else.

PayPal will ask you to enter credit card details if you choose credit card as one of the ways to transfer money to your PayPal account. As with eBay, PayPal uses the latest technology to keep your details safe, uses them only when you say so and will not share your details with anybody else.

Pigglet- once you've run adaware and a full virus check, may I suggest you download and run 'Hijack this'......it'll produce a report which will show us for sure if your browser has been hijacked or if you have anything nasty on your system.......

The report will look something like this;

48313_large.jpeg

And you can get the prog (free ) HERE

GET IT DONE ASAP, (the adaware scan at a bare minimum!) as from what you say, it may well be that you have something nasty going on ;)

You could always have one of these :D

:blagblah:pullface:D

Had a look at that Dickie and it says it needs XP but I'm on Vista so haven't tried it.
Look a usefull little programme though.

Works in Vista as well, been using for years now when I do open an IE page, won't work with Firefox though.

Run Microsoft defender Its free yes free. and right click your internet explorer then delete history cookies and files, but not anythink else. If you have norton run virus search and do a live update. and a microsoft update for security updates this may help.
