Hi,

Why is it that whenever I get a new tyre, regardless of mileage, I notice the ruddy brake pads need replacing (need to check my paranoia-meter but I have a sneaking suspicion that even if the pads were only 1000 miles old and I needed a new tyre the pads would need replacing).

Sooo, has anyone tried a set of EBC's fancy double H pads rather than the standard ones? ... any others that folks can recommend for stopping power and durability?

Answers based on experience rather than opinion please :augie

Cheers

Andy

double H are the sintered pad, ie bits of metal in them to help breaking efficency.
Worked well on all the bikes I have owned, however WILL wear disc's to a greater degree than ordinary pads.

dont try EBC kevlar green pads, didnt get even a 1000 miles out of a set of front ones.

never tried them on a 650 but they were useless in the cold and wet on my TDM. It took far too long for them to warm up and get any braking to happen and were very snatchy until warm. In the dry though they were great.

ooo ... split down the middle, anyone else out their who can field a 'casting' experience?

Thanks Marki and Bowser.

I will steer clear of the EBC Greens.
