Edinburgh accomodation

Looking to go on a long weekend to Edinburgh at the end of the month and looking for suitable accommodation. Main concerns are off road parking for bike, don't mind a bus ride into the city centre, and am not bothered by such fripperies as cotton ear buds, sewing kits and massive fluffy Egyptian towels, just somewhere clean and comfy, but above all cheap.

Any suggestions??

Depends on how much you are prepared to spend ?

which isnt cheap but nice. easy to get into city on the park and ride bus. Food reasonable

You may struggle at that kind of notice. The town is busy with tourists all year and we're heading for the festival in August. Try air bnb. My daughter does this (no use to you as she's in a tenement flat) but some folk with larger houses will have off road parking.

Straven Guest House, Portobello or Alpha Guest House, near Cameron Toll - both good, well run and have a plan for keeping the bikes safe.
