Back from a wee jaunt and stupidly threw the bike cover half over my two month old bike...........................! Please tell me that it is possible to get the burned residue off! Sure I read an article in a mag recently about a Buell and some similar cockup!

Thanks
David

Sorry.....! Can't do pics...............Imagine black tarry deposits on exhausts.

Thanks
David

warm the bike up, scrape the thick depsits off with a plastic or wood spatula, use wd40/meths on a cloth and rub off remaining, dont get the exhaust to hot mind :rob

Use wood for scraping, it doesnt leave scratches.

I would......warm it up again, scrape off the worst with a wooden spatualar then use any chemicals that work, starting with wash benzine, thinners, nail varnish remover, whatever works

you could buy my exhaust for £500 so I can get something funky and sexy.....:nenau....save you all that cleaning.....:green gri

:D

All the above, but use a hot air gun (or someones hair dryer) to heat the muck up. :thumb2

Many Many Many Thanks folks!:clap:clap:clap

A hammer and chisel couldn't have removed that stuff last night!.........Bought acetone from the chemist........got looked at suspiciously?
Heated up the bike......soaked cloth in acetone.....came off like huge black scabs revealing shining stuff underneath.........Magic.....Chuffed!
