I have, forgot to pay the €3, then several weeks later got a letter with a €47.50 fine. I rang them to say I'd never had the reminder letter, €3 for toll plus €3 fine. (I just don't use the m50 anymore cos it costs me €6 each way cos I always forget:blast)

They said I had to pay the whole lot, there was no appealing to them at all on the phone. What I was saying clearly didn't fit in a box so I asked for an address, it was like pulling teeth but eventually got one.

I sent a letter explaining what happened and enclosed a cheque for €6.
They cashed my cheque and I never heard from them again.

HTH:)

yep, gonna try that, have you got the address...

how long ago was that since you sent them the cheque.

Cheers:thumb2

Jaysus, dont ask hard questions!!!

Not sure tbh, could be a year ago:nenau

And I've no idea what the address is now, sorry.

I just find the whole remembering to pay afterwards a nightmare:rob, I've paid by phone whilst still on m50 and tried to pay for return journey but they cant do that:mad:
So i only use the m50(past the toll) on my bike. If I'm going northside I use Eastlink, even tho I live 5mins from m50:nenau.

What's the scoop for Nordies and other foreigners occasionally using the M50?

I've been along it the odd time since the Toll Plaza disappeared but never paid anything either in advance or afterwards, and no brown envelopes subsequently appeared on the doormat :augie

Just asking as I'll be working at CityWest Angling Show next month and using that road

Its free if you dont have an ROI reg plate:thumb2

.

Or if your ROI plate is slightly obscured by, say, a tax disc holder. As far as i'm concerned we've all already paid for these roads when we renew or road tax.:augie

Jeez i thought the eu paid for the motorways..:nenau

But Mide, yep would avoid the tolls except on the bike. The whole idea of it is crazy, It's like a road for those who can work the technology and if you cant then fcuk off.

I am disgusted by the idea that a a tourist who hired a car for is gonna get screwed by the car hire company when they get back from holidays with these extortinate charges plus the huge admin charges the car hire puts on top of each one...that'll do wonders for one of the only industry's the country still has....:blast
