For those living in the Middle East, the post Ramadan holidays are not far off.
Some of us in Saudi are thinking of taking advantage of the cheap, cheap fuel and riding down to Oman for a few days .

Anyone care to meet up in Nizwar :beerjug:?

damn, i wish I'd had my GS when I lived there.

Still - managed to batter the Toyota Fourunner on plenty of camping trips though :D

I don't have my GS in Dubai, but if you fancy stopping for a beer in Dubai it would be great to meet up.

Hi Bin,

No, bin too lazy in this hot weather. Done nothing or been nowhere. Got a nasty dry cough since returning to work. I know I have to do something before the Eid.
Besides oil changes, I might check the fuel injectors with my TwinMax.

Aha. Another GSer in Dubai without a bike! I'm still thinking of buying one, but am reminded everyday how much my life expectancy would decrease on the SZR!

I'm heading down to Oman in the 4X4 for Eid, to Al Sawadi Beach near Barka. They've got permanent pitched tents down there now.

Tents are for hire. You DO need to book ahead at weekends / Eid. Usual Eid prices, though cheaper than the rooms. They used to let you camp on the beach...I don't know whether that's still an option? Likewise at the Oman Dive Centre, a few km closer to Muscat.

This is the first year I've seen them. Don't know if they were there before Hurricane Gonu rearranged the Oman coastline. Check all the details here: www.alsawadibeach.com/

I think it's a little more than OR25 during Eid, but maybe wrong. I left the booking a bit late, and grabbed the first cheap option... The place is a tiny bit rough around the edges, but I prefer to call it 'old world charm'...even if it isn't 'Old world'.
