Hi guys,

Before I start to rip the thing to bits has anyone any ideas why my front & rear sidelights aren't working? Obviously I've checked the bulbs and the relevant fuse, but am I missing something bleeding obvious? Everything else is fine, I haven't done/altered/buggered about with anything, so I'm a bit confused. Haven't had a multi meter on it yet, that's at work so I'll bring it home tonight.

Bike is a '99 1100.

Ta in advance

It may be the handlebar switch. Do they work with the ignition key in the park position?

Nope - tried that. I'm off out there now to start tearing it apart. God only knows what it could be - bloody electrics I hate 'em.:(

Ok,

I've tested the following:

Power to light switch.
Power from sidelight part of switch.
Power from headlight part of switch (for comparison)
Power goes from switch to connector block under front of tank. Power comes from connector block OK. Wires then disappear in main loom under tank and into fuse box.

NO POWER TO SIDELIGHT FUSE!

So, I guess that somewhere in the main loom, form the block to the fusebox, there's a break - but the colour of hte wire changes along there at some point, so I guess there's a nother connection somewhere?

Is it likely there's a broken wire? Well, I know all things are possible, I'm kind of thinking out loud here coz I really don't want to have to start stripping that whole lot out. If I can find a bit of wire I'll see if I can run it from the connect to the fuse to see if I get lights, then I'll know it's a break somewhere.

Anyone shed any light on this one:rolleyes:
