I originally posted this as a reply to his thread, but though in hindsight it might need a more prominant posting.

hey guys, I don't know if any of you have seen this, but if any of you are touched enough about Johnny's story about the little boy I though you might be interesting in this...

Oxfam Unwrapped

I'm just about to buy my wife a loo as she hated them out there and I'm sure Johnny and anyone else whos been there can explain why ;)

Hopefully no-one thinks I'm hi-jacking his efforts or that my intensions are misplaced... I simply saw this in the tube the last time I was in London and thought it was a good idea.

Hi pal

Sorry I'm bushed tonight first day back on planet earth
Will look closer tomorrow

I have already put wheels in motion for my wee mates school
There are a lot more deserving causes in the world but that wee guy touched my heart and I have to do something.

Cheers
Johnny

hey matey, not surprised you're bushed, it must be a bit of a culture shock getting back.

Good on you for doing something re the school, I wasn't trying to suggest it was anything but deserving... maybe it's only as a result of going to some of these places, but you become more connectedly aware of their plight and also how important some of these things are too them. It amazed me just how keen the kids out there are to go to school and to learn. I remember catching a news report when I got back about a group shipping second hand push bikes out there for some of these kids who travel 5-10 miles a day just to get to the nearest school - mostly on foot.

Helping repair their school will be hugely worthy and also will benefit a lot of very keen kids... good on ya! :thumb
