Whilst touring Scotland this week I threw the GS down the road, it slid for 30 or 40ft befor hitting the curb going up a 2ft bank and into a 3" sapling, it took four of us to drag the bike out. The bike hit the curb front first which lifted the bike enough to stop the engine hitting the curb. Total damage, Bent beak, broken piece of plastic under the headlamp and nearly ground through the engine bar. The exhaust, handlebars, footpegs and all the sticky out bits are unmarked.
Good investment those engine bars, they had been on a 5 month back order fromm Touratech and arrived and were fitted 2 days before heading off on this trip. Somebody was helping me out that day, and me? you could barely tell I had fallen off and slid 20ft down the road on my arse and back, thank you Rukka and Alpinestars.

Best result from a bad situation.

I can vouch for Alpinestars saving my arse on a 40mph low-side as well. :thumb

Not a scratch on me.
