I know this has been discussed before but can I ask for the latest views on this subject please?

I'm not into off roading (at the moment!) so my main concern is laying my 07 GS down (probably stationary) because of losing my footing etc. In this case, would cylinder head protectors provided the same cover as engine bars? Mine has the plastic BMW ones on at present but there are higher quality ones available such as the MachineArt X-Heads from NN - are these significantly better than the BMW ones?

Similarly, is it worth getting a paralever slider (or Lever Guard from NN) to protect the back end?

Any recommendations for kit that works well would be gratefully received thanks :D

I would go for both - the metal cylinder head guards have been known to snap the mounting bolts and holes if the bike goes over. Get the bars and the plastic head protectors.

Standard BMW Head guards would be my recommendation.

Threw mine up the road at 50mph- superficial damage only.
