SMW Motech do not cause issues with the Remus headers unlike some others and provide great protection in the event of an off as many on here will testify.

I have a new set listed in the for sale and wanted section if your interested.

Got SW Motech bars on mine. Nice easy fit, no issues. :thumb
Give better head protection than the OEM bars, as they have a strut that goes back. Cheap too.
Not sure how any of these bars would cope with anything more than a stumble though. Still, they look
:D

BMW's bars on the 1200 do little to stop damage even in low speed spills, had H&B on my 1150 that protected the casings on two drops, would definently buy H&B again.

Ive got hepco and becker, great fit and you can buy an additional tank bar to fit on so it looks like the Adventure

Do you think the tank bar would fit the SW Motechs? Anyone know?:nenau
They look cool.:thumb

I have looked at them all (ten times) --- Touratech are expensive and they cover the cylinder head. The SW Motechs bolt under the sump and look a bit ugly. The BMW bars are flimsy looking and expensive. The H&B are £140 from the above address

I've got a set of SW Motech in a box in my garage, unused. If you're interested £100 plus postage. PM me if you're interested.

Motech are great bars. Easy to fit. Look great and they work. My GS fell over when I pulled up and nonchalantly popped the side stand down with a flick of my heel and let the bike settle over onto the stand. Only I had been a bit too nonchalant and not checked the stand was down. As my body got to roughly 45 degrees to the upright I realised my mistake and said a bad word just before my shoulder hit the deck. Result slight scratches to the bars, slight scratches to the neaside pannier and a massive dent to my ego. Scratches now repaired, ego still recovering. The price of looking "cool"

PS do you realise just how heavy a fully loaded GS is when you are trying to pick it up quickly before anybody notices? Luckily a passerby came to help as soon as he stopped laughing.

motobins sometimes have engine bars that they sell on the cheap (shop soiled) as they have small scratches on. I brought a set last month from them for £88 with 2 small scratches on, you wouldn't even notice them, just got a small tin of silver paint and covered the biggest scratch

I looked at both and went for H&B. Have already dropped the bike on them and they did the job.

Also one other thing to consider is removal of the rocker covers for servicing. H&B allows that without removing the bars. I believe the SW Motech bars need to be removed. Not an issue if you do you own servicing though. Also someone mentioned below the SW bars bolt under the sump which reduces ground clearance and looks a bit naff. Personal opinion though.
