Engine comparison.

I have a 1200 forty eight which has a a pair of Vance and Hines pipes a RSD air cleaner on and a super tuner. I have also had the cams done (stage 2 apparently)

I was in the local harley dealer and they where saying that the 103 (1600 ish) engine is a lot better than the 1200.

Now my question is, Is the 103 engine going to be a lot better than my 1200 stage 2 engine?

And yes the 103 1690 engine is great. Lovely and smooth with excellent fueling.

Take a test ride and decide for yourself mind.

No not necessarily decided to go for the bigger bike. It's 6k more so it would have to be an awful lot better to make me change.

I've got a hopped up 1200 Sporty based bike and a 103 " 'glide.... Different beasts entirely, neither one is best. It's "horses for courses"...

1. Did you ask him to define 'better'? It's more powerful with higher torque but is a lot heavier and bigger not to mention the cost.

2. Did you also point out that right now the 48 is the coolest bike that HD is producing, and that you can't get a 103 engined 48? :cool
