Cleaning the bike after a tour I found a stone chip on the engine paint. Not a problem or entirely unexpected and I'm happy to patch it up. With all the recent investigations into BMW paint codes, did anyone find a code for the light grey engine paint?

If I can't get a matching paint, to stop it peeling, should I should dab a bit of clear lacquer on there to seal it?

Ta!

Have been trying to find these myself. The codes I have are:
M960 aluminium silver metallic for the engine colour
M963 graphite grey for the head covers

I too have collected a couple of stone chips on the engine. A bit of digging here shows the code as "M960 Aluminiumsilber-Met."

I ordered a small touchup bottle from RS Bike Paint just as a tester, and it does seem to be a good match. :thumb I'm utterly shite at anything paint related though, so a local classic car bodyshop are going to have a look at it for me.

little tip I got shown years ago for touching in "small" stone chips, is use a cocktail stick, just a little dab in the paint and your away, because its so small it uses the tiniest amount of paint:thumby:

Any of you kind chaps know the paint code for the paralever?

I can't see a code on any of the parts diagrams - although I have a feeling it might be powdercoated rather than painted?

Best guess is its the same aluminium silver metallic as the frame and engine.
If it is the same colour then Realoem lists the part no. as (51912223264 Touch-up stick set Aluminiumsilber met.)
