A question for Arsey! So smitten was I when i saw the Duke i havent done my usual levels of research and puzzled by the exhaust arrangements! Mine is registered March 07, is red with fairing, and has 2 sperate exhausts, and yet most of the pics i see are 2 into 1. Is there a technical difference between them or is just preference or lots of after market products? From what i can gather mine is the Sport 1000 S but whats the difference and why?
Your pic didn't work.
I'm pretty sure you have this beaut :
My bike as standard looks like this :
I'm sure some smart alec will correct me on the dates,but it is something like this :
In 2006 Ducati introduced my bike which is a monoposto (single seat).
It has no pillion pegs and hence can have the dual exhausts on right side.
Later in 2007 they dropped the monoposto and brought out a biposto (dual seat) and also raised the bars,as many owners were not in their twenties and found the reach a bit much.
But because this bike has the twin seat and pillion pegs they had to drop the twin exhaust on the rhs and make it one each side.I believe it comes with a rear cover to make it look like a monoposto.
About the same time they brought out the S version with a fairing which you have.
There are loads of after-market exhaust options such as Termis,Arrow and Zards.
I love the look of the Zards,but they ain't cheap and mine came with the Termis/ecu and airbox mod all fitted
And here's yours with twin Termis :
I understand that the Termis are the best of the bunch in that they come with a new ecu and airbox cover.I didn't ride my bike as standard but all I can say is it is the nicest,smoothest FI twin engine I have ever ridden.And it sounds amazing (the prev owner lost the baffles
)
