If I want to erase all files to do with mapsource worldmap & city select for my pc, what do i need to do?

I'm aware just deleting it doesn't get rid of everything.

Had a problem with the pc & am trying to reinstall mapsource worldmap & city select, but without sucess. It says files already there, but there isn't anything.

It is unlikely to be the fact that the files are not there. when you delete a file you modify the directory entry and the first few section of the file header on disk. Those disk sectors then become unallocated and available for use by anybody.

Did you delete mapsource from the control panel or use an uninstall program? It is more likely that you still have references in your windows registry. The Mapsource install program is likely to look in the Registry first.

There are a few programs available such as Registry Medic which will tidy the registry up for you. Some are available for trial use but may also be limited in how many corrections they make.

If working against the registry always ensure you have a back up and restore capability.

Spent £500 on a P4 3.0Ghz with MSI FISR motherboard, FX5900 graphics card, Maxtor 160GB and 1GB RAM

:hapybnce:

:GS:GS:GS:GS me , it's fast compared with the heap of shit, sorry, the pc my mate gave me foc that I was grateful for :D

Seriously, I had an HP 266 that a mate gave me a while ago and we think the motherboard had a fault as it goes on the blink intermitently.

Deleted all evidence of it (registry etc) just to be on the safe side, then reinstalled it with no problems.

However, it's now on my "whoosh" super fast new pc :D :D :D :D

Right, now where are all those games that I couldn't play before :D

If anybody wants a 266 chip foc, I have one of each going. I don't trust the motherboard, so will be binning that.
