Yup, I finally managed to get it up
and Ive been trying ever so hard, I promise.
Nothing my old lady could do seemed to help until I decided to pull on it a bit harder.
And suddenly..........voila. Erect as intended.
It is quite amazing what a difference a few degrees of vertical movement have made to the peace and quiet behind the screen of my 2008 GSA.
What? Why you dirty little scuzzers - and you really thought I would discuss personal failings on a public forum? Shame on you, says I
I have wanted to try a more vertical screen position ever since I got the bike a couple of months ago even though I didn't think that it could make a huge difference.
The screen was about mid-position when I got the bike but try as I might, I couldn't budge it - until last night, when I applied a bit more brute force and up she came to maximum vertical.
I couldn't wait to try it and have just been out for a quick 10 mile blast to see if there is much difference. My hat but it has totally transformed the experience.
Bear in mind that I am 6ft 3in tall and had fitted a Touratech screen spoiler to try and reduce the buffeting at speed with only partial success.
But there is now a complete cocoon of still air which allowed me up to 70mph at least (as fast as I could go on my short test) to ride without ear-plugs and the flip on my helmet raised.
Amazing.
Which reminds me, where have I put the little blue pills?
